Technical Key Points of Emergency Exit Sign Lights

The core technology of the emergency exit sign lights for export need to focus on "emergency reliability" and "regional compliance".
 
Firstly, the performance basis is that the emergency light source should primarily be LED, ensuring that the minimum brightness of the indicator surface under normal lighting is ≥ 15cd/㎡, and in emergency mode it is ≥ 10cd/㎡, without glare effction; the built-in backup battery needs to meet ≥ 90 minutes of emergency power supply, and it should have overcharge and overdischarge protection, a cycle life of no less than 500 times, and after the power supply is cut off, it needs to automatically switch to the emergency mode within 0.5 seconds to avoid evacuation delays.
 
Secondly, compliance and safety require adaptation to the grid parameters of the target market (such as 120V/60Hz in North America, 230V/50Hz in Europe), and mandatory certification must be obtained: for export to Europe, it needs to comply with CE certification (EN 60598-2-22 standard), for North America, it needs UL 924 certification, and for the UK, it needs BS EN 50171 standard.
 
In terms of electrical protection, the indoor emergency exit sign light's IP rating should be no less than IP20, and for humid / outdoor scenarios, it should reach IP65, with a grounding resistance of ≤ 0.5Ω to prevent electric shock; the shell and panel should be made of V0 grade flame-retardant ABS and other materials, with no toxic gases during combustion, and in compliance with the RoHS environmental protection directive.
 
Finally, environmental and structural adaptation requires that the working temperature should cover -20℃ to +55℃, to cope with different regional climates, and at the same time, the emergency exit sign light should have resistance to vibration and impact; installation provides wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, and suspended installation methods, and the brackets are treated for rust prevention.
 
In terms of visibility, the graphics should comply with ISO 3864 standard (green "running person" + arrow), and can be clearly identified in any direction within 30 meters, and the panel should be anti-fog and anti-scuff. Lastly, intelligence and maintenance include that mid-to-high-end products can add fault alarm functions, where battery failure or light source damage can be indicated by indicator lights / sounds; some support fire system linkage or light sensing control, in normal state, it can be "always on + dimly lit" for energy saving, balancing energy consumption and identification effect.
